The c-clip eliminator makes it difficult to change a wheel stud with the axle in. It may also be a 3" racing stud or screw in type.

Yes that is a spool which means you have c-clip eliminators on the axles. There are 4 nuts (or bolts) behind the brake backing plate holding the backing plate and c-clip eliminators on. Take them out and slide the axles out. Just be careful as the backing plates will be loose as well.

Never mind. I forgot stock struts had a screwdriver type slut, not slotted ends for a wrench.

Yes, top of the strut is slotted so a wrench will fit on it. See picture I took below. Holding the strut with an adjustable wrench, turning the 15/16" nut with a box end wrench.

Use a 7/16" wrench on the top of the strut to keep it from turning and then loosen the nut with the appropriate wrench.
