Can you all just stop the shit already?? This is a build thread not Romper Room. If you don't like it, don't post!!

    1968 mustang rear brakes

Measure the width of the shoe. That's what determines the width of the brakes.

Is a vent in your valve cover a huge vacuum leak?

Ahhh, the breather was open to the outside air?? I thought it was hooked into the air intake like they come factory. My bad, I was wondering why you guys were saying to get rid of it.

I do have to agree with that.

    Nismo-stang!!

Damn, all you guys/girls need to just take a step back. Ya'll are taking this stuff way to serious. Let the kid try it and get his feet wet in a little bit of fabrication and custom work. Thousands of these cars get wrecked every year and everybody is worried about someone "ruining" one by using...

It used to piss me off too but for some reason I am starting to accept a lot of it. I guess I'm more interested in seeing something different than every car the same. I will never accept a Chevy powered one though.

    Nismo-stang!!

I guess I should never post that someday I'd love to build a notch with wicked 2G63. I don't have any problems with something like this. I just hate seeing Chevy powered stangs. That really pisses me off!!

Is a vent in your valve cover a huge vacuum leak?

You need some sort of way to relieve crankcase pressure. Either through a PCV, vacuum pump or crankcase evac system. A breather will help from creating too much vaccum and sucking in oil and seals, or helps push out extra pressure if the PCV system is not efficient. Having vacuum at the valve...

how do you remove a crankshaft bearing caps

Anything from having to tap a main cap with a hammer is a good thing. Luckily my new Dart block came with a groove in the cap. You stick a small prybay in, add just a hair of pressure and Presto. Dead blow stays in the drawer lol.

how do you remove a crankshaft bearing caps

1st step is to measure the block and the existing pistons. If clearance is Ok with just a hone you are set. If the block needs to be bored you have 2 options. The big question is: Custom or Off the shelf piston? If you are buying an off the shelf piston you will need them in hand. Your...

how do you remove a crankshaft bearing caps

I'm assuming you are replacing the rings? At a minimum have the block honed (with torque plates) and a good block wash. Have the machinist measure the cylinders with a bore guage and measure your current pistons. That will give you an idea of piston to wall clearance and be the deciding factor...

Looking good. Damn there are a lot of ignorant pricks on that site. Anyways, when it's time for a driveshaft call up Fleet Pride on Walden Ave. They make killer driveshafts at a great price. They will tell you what measurments they want and usually make them in day or 2.

how do you remove a crankshaft bearing caps

Hey man I forgot to ask. There are 2 pins that will sometimes keep the main cap from coming loose. Did you take them out? The side bolts hold them in but with the bolts removed you should be able to yank the pins out with a pair of vice grips.

I agree. Densham, we don't treat people like that on this forum.
