Depending on use, the earlier block may be better for you, but would have to use more expensive link bar roller lifters if you stay with a roller cam.

I was thinking '86 LX nose compared to '86 GT nose, Yes 4-eye Vs aero is very different. Don't see a lot of 4-eyes anymore.

86 and older didn't have the plastic bodywork (skirts) like the 87 and newer ones did. It looks like the LX 5.0 for the 87 and newer bodys, but with a GT badges, and I think a slightly different nose/grill.

When you stabed the distributor, did you make sure cylinder #1 was at TDC on the compression stroke, and the rotor pointed to #1 spark plug wire
