Hi Josh I have never heard of an engine making more noise by changing the oil. Different viscosity or not. You must have a mechanical issue rather then the oil type or viscosity.

If the wheel berings are the same as my 92 i would almost thro a twenty on it that its the bearing for sure. Take 30 minutes and pull her apart and hit me back with the result of a dry bearing. LOL Good luck.

I had the same sound when i first got my 92. I went thru the barkes and nothing. I pulled the rotor off and the wheel bering was dry. I cleaned it up really good and repacked it with greese and i havent heard the noise since...
