its best NOT to jack up parts that are connected to springs. There should be a few point at each corner on your chassis designed for jacking. Using the pumpkin is only when your ghetto and you need to lift both side at the same time for a short time for jack stands or sumn. Im sure you can find...

there is a gap between the pumpkin and the cover, if you jack on that you risk bending the cover and causing a leak. If you must jack at the pumkpin use a telephone book or something to creat more surface area so you dont damage the cover.

I had an AOD in my T-Bird SC and i was not so happy with it, 300ft lb of torque was more than it could handle BUT that was with Ford internals, im sure these after market guys will make an AOD A.O.K.
