Code should re-appear immediatly, may take a short drive to put a load on it. Ill help you change "what ever" but u need the "what ever" in the first place. Again the wisest thing is just to do a complete tune up, plugs & wires. otherwise you will be doing this every few months.

I have had two belts jump one grove on fly-wheel & ruin the edge & one rib/groove of belt recently. I was thinking that the oil was getting on edge of belt & softening it up & causing this. Certainly isn't helping. So Im changing the outer oil seal in the Procharger & checking pulley alignment...

Canned tunes are a waste of $$$ IMHO. You will only notice slight difference in performance if any at all. If the car is pinging & the comp has to "learn" to get rid of ping that means that timing is being taken out & the tune is crap to start with.
