Could be a wheel bearing, or a warped rotor. You can warp them by not breaking them in right, or I have had them warp because of poor manufacturing (cheep Chinese steel).

I use Castrol High mileage, which is a semi synthetic oil. it works good as far as I can tell. I beat the snot out of my 01 f150 with a 6 banger in it. I put 130k on her, for a grand total of 170k before I sold it. If your car is going to leak oil, it will leak. Oil wont make a difference...
