What Does the HO stand for in 302 5.0 HO engines

ok well i know i have a 302 but my firing order on the distributor doesn't match either of those, i've checked them over and over again, so i don't know what the hell they did to the engine before i had it, i think i heard from the guy i bought it from that it was camed, but i have no way to know because there is no cam pully unless it's in the enigine and runs off the crank itself. so i'm kinda screwed unless one of you live around me and can come help me out.
Not sure what you are doing to determine the firing order, but if you are looking at numbering on the wires someone could have used lets say a number 8 on the wire going to cyl. 4 and it could screw you up. Also make sure you are using the correct distributor rotation when checking the firing order. Follow each wire from the cap all the way to the plug so you know which cylinder it is actually going to.
There are only 2 firing orders for a small block ford. I doesn't matter what cam you have it has to be one of the 2. Follow the wire from the #1 plug to the distributor cap and then mark it. Go to the wire that is 1 space counterclockwise and follow it. Which cylinder does it go to? It will either be #3 or #5. I think you are getting confused with the picture. Depending on how the distrubutor was installed #1 could be anywhere. Mine is set up with #1 where #5 is on the diagram. It's just ho I wanted to put it in to make the distributor face forward. (It's a think with me, I hate shit being crooked.) LOL

No, #1 is left front when looking at the engine from the front. #8 is right rear back by the brake booster.

It has to be one of the 2 of these. There is no other firing order for a 302 that I am aware of. You probally have it off by a wire. Those puke green marks on the picture Would be the tabs that hold the the Deistributor top on. Take a pic of your Distributor and post it up. Maybe we can help you. Also make sure the Distributor cap and rotor are good.

I;m tell all of you that it isn't any of the 2 firing orders, i've followed the diagrams and my distributor to the plugs and niether of the two firing orders match, so i'm not sure what to do. ok i will take a picture of my distributor and the wires tomorrow and post it, so that if any one can help i'de be grateful.
