cmon guys, this part of the forums is dying down. it looks like im the guy with 1001 questions for the gurus lol.

well im going to start up mods soon. the first thing i want to do is fix my vert top. i couldnt find a place so i went to the junk yard in queens. they fixed part of my vert top and fucked up another part. i dont want to go there again to fix the part they messed up. i dont trust em. my question is, does any1 know a place where i can get it fixed? im really trying to leave the dealer as the last resort, cuz i know they are going to charge me an arm and a leg.

after i get my vert top fixed, these are what im going to do next:
bodywork/paint
exhaust
cai
mach1 lip
lowering springs
3.73s
and a tune, might leave the tune for the NYM trip out to mustang magic

There has to be an Upholstery shop in NYC somewhere!! I wouldnt go to the dealer at all itll be WAY to expensive..

There is a GREAT guy up here that specializes is hot rods and vert tops. If you want to make the trip it may be something he can do in a day.

What were you thinking for:
Exhaust
CAI
Springs??

Hoping to see you at the MM trip!! :awesomework:

I know of one place here in westchester. My sister had her top done, as did a few other members here.

It is called "convertible tops" it is located in tuckahoe ny. I will find the address and number for you.

A whole top will run between $12-1500.

thnx for ur help guys, ima check that palce out. might head there today if i geta chance. and as for the following:
Exhaust:

  • Flowmaster American Thunder Cat-back
  • Bassani Off-road X-pipe
CAI : thinking K&N?
Springs : thinking h&r?

any inputs would be great :D

just ordered a replacement top for the stang from AM. seems like ordering from them will save me $100 in installation fees. i'll post up progress and pics when i get it done.

As for the jlt question I guess its just for preference......Some people don't want there filter in the fender wall some do?!?!?!? Im not 100% on that though but pretty sure!

He has black, so itll be easy for that- although IMO a chrome or polished one looks ncie in the bay. especially of a black car.

for the springs, how low do you want to go? most cars can take about 1.25" with the stock plates, anything more is hit or miss with the alignment- Ive met some people that can get it in spec, and others cant.

H&R's are a good choice, but stiff. Prokit is a good choice as well, but the rates are more for looks then handling when compared to the H&R. Consider getting new shocks/struts while you are at it, since the stockers dont enjoy being dropped a couple inches.

Ram Air Intakes:​
Much like a cold air intake, the Ram Air Intake (RAI) pulls in cooler air from outside the engine compartment. Unlike a CAI, though, the Ram Air uses a shorter tube, which causes the air to be pushed into the throttle body with much greater force. There is a larger volume of air which, in turn, leads to more engine power.

As you increase the speed of your mustang, wind pressure is forced through the intake manifold and filter. It’s almost like having a turbo charger, but without the additional parts. The downside to the Ram Air is that it will not be very noticeable until you are traveling more than 35 miles per hour.

Other than those differences, the Ram Air Intake is the same as a Cold Air Intake.


Just like a CAI, the typical power increase is 5-10 hp.

well, just dropped the vert earlier today to get the vinyl changed, lets hop it comes out good. shelled out some good dough =/

after that, its heading to body/paint/exhaust

the top was actually better than what i expected. i also got it installed at a shop in the bronx, which did an outstanding job getting it done. it held up through that last snow storm we had np, no leaks or anything. looks better than OEM imo...

u deff need to check out the shop here

well the actual top was from AM, which can be found here, its 159.99, b4 u check out make sure u put in the NYM discount for an extra 5% off. as for installation, the guys at the shop told me to keep it on the d/l. but if u call any upholstery shop, the quotes ur gonna get are between 500-600 for installation. its a 12 hr job. but at Godfrey's, it was less than that... hint hint ;)

it was phenomenal work and i got it the next day. tell em the egyptian from the mustang club sent u and hes gonna hook u up
