I have an automatic with a TCI streetfighter ratchet shifter. Last week I unintentionally wailed on the rev limiter manually shifting from 2nd to 3rd. Immediately after doing that when it automatically downshifted and was in drive did nothing like as if it were in neutral. I was sure I did some transmission damage I took it to a shop who told me the transmission is fine...
I eased off using the shifter for a day or two, car seems ok. Until today coming home from work, totally forgetting about the issue, I used the shifter... Same thing, revved like it like it missed a shift. then when decelerating to a stop (back in drive) starting up again it revved like it was in neutral. Only when I manually put it back in first will it drive... After that it drives fairly normal... with awkward shift points.
Anybody have any idea what this could be? I might take it to KS auto to have them check out the shifter. I would like it fixed because I love it but might have to put the stock one back in.
