Over on AOL autos they posted up a Top 10 Movie Car Chase Scenes List with the Ford Mustang taking two spots on the list. The list includes some of the most well known car movies of all time including classics like "Cannonball Run", "Vanishing Point", "The Fast and the Furious", the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" and "Bullitt".
Holding down the 5th spot on the list is the original "Gone in 60 Seconds" movie with it's 34-minute chase scene over the Long Beach, CA ports complex. The car in the movie was a 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 dubbed "Eleanor" which was driven by H.B. "Toby" Halicki who did all of his own stunts. Check out the video below for a portion of the chase scene.
Taking the 1st spot on the list like it does time and time again is "Bullitt", the 1968 movie starring Steve McQueen as Lt. Frank Bullitt. The movie is most remembered for it's chase scene through the streets of San Francisco. The chase scene involved a 1968 Ford Mustang GT 390 chasing a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum. The chase scene is one of the earliest and most influential in history. To see the chase scene check out the video below.
