Shifter cable clip,AOD 87-9?

Hello all,
The title almost says it all. My father has an 89 LX 5.0 Convertible with automatic trans,it stopped shifting.I took a look at it and the cable is in fine shape but the clip that holds the cable to the shifter is surface rusted and has lost it's strength so it won't stay on.That said I've tried auto parts all they show is a new cable,which I'm trying to avoid because I don't need a cable. So if anyone has one of these clips laying around(maybe someone is parting a car or something?) or if they have any info as to where I can get one? I would really appreciate it.Thanks

It's a small part I know,But the car is sidelined until I find one. Maybe someone has an original/old cable laying around with the clip on it? I believe that this same cable and clip was used on all V8 Mustangs from 1986-1993, and several Mercuries from the same time period, Capri,Marquis (The midsized foxbody).I will Trade or overpay for one(within reason).Please let me know what you have? Thanks

i will check for you tomorrow i just pulled a aod tranny out of my fox to put in a t5.i will check the condition of the clip and let you know

I'm definately interested. If your car had the stock shifer,it is the clip that attached the cable to it.That said I will be away from my computer for the next several days so there is no huge rush at this point.Please let me know when you can? Thanks
