Replacing power steering pump

IM going to replace my power steering pump due to the Ford whine when truning the wheels. I recieved a pump off a freind and am in the process of taking the old one off. I have the front bracket off (holds the front of the ac pump on and the power steering pump). But there is a stud sticking out far enough that i cant slide the ps pump far enough forward to get it off before it hits the radiator fan shrowd. Do i have to take the radiator out?? If so how do i take the fan off, since the belt is off it spins freely. Are the bolts holding the fan on reverse or normal threads. Thank you!!

You can double nut the stud and back it out or take the shroud off. It wont be easy removing the fan without the belt, but the nuts are standard thread. If you cant get the fan off try unbolting the shroud and then rotating it up and away from the stud youre working on. One question : do you have the tool to remove the p/s pump pulley?
