Possible Pulley Problem

Well Tim, you got me thinking about my gap... I had .034.. so i figure we almost have the same set up so why don't i change the gap to .032.. Fixed it.. Running like a champ right now.. No hesitation no sputter..


I'm assuming what happened was the first time it was hesitating was because of that ONE spark plug the had the tip broken off.

And when i changed the other spark plugs they weren't gaped properly.

I know i still need the tune regardless because i'm still running lean.. Oh and i have a 2.81" pulley waiting

Yeah the only problem i'm having is if the engine is not all the way warmed up it will hesitate a little at wide open throttle. But if it's warmed up it runs like a champ.

No dyno for me.. Couldn't stop the hesitation. Everytime he did it the sheets stopped because of the misfiring.

WOW, that sucks man. I am very sorry to hear that. Didn't they help you determine the source of the problem? Did you guys try closing the plug gap a little more?
I used to run a 30 gap before and went down to 24 with the bigger turbo. Car runs great, no problems. Maybe you can try that.

ACCKKKK! That sucks!!!!! They couldn't figure out the misfire? You have stock coils right? I'd stick some new NGK TR6 in it with a smaller gap than you have now and see what happens. .028-.034 gap

Did you check the fuel rail pressure sensor? Fords are known for having issues with them, and it will cause the same issue you are having as well.

....Sounds like you had a long day! :nono: Pulley was tough, MM, how was the drive home??....I would start with the coil packs & go from there...I didn't hear the car break up when you left....You plug gap is good (0.032)
