This is so much info on Hermann and this Cobra on the net that it may take years for me to figure it all out. The best I can find (and figure out) so far tells me he has had every single Supercharger KB offers for the Cobra and yes also this Turbo set up..
The short answer seems to be he was always a KB distributor and he used this Cobra as the test mule for anything and everything they came out with that fit on it. (I know of at least 3 diff KB's that were on it) Then later he became a Hellion Dealer and my guess is they wanted him to try it on his own vehicle and I'm sure the price was right so he threw it on the Cobra.
But enough guessing, here's what he said about it...
In closing all my research has found out this, Hermann was a true pioneer with the early Stangs and the good ole 5.0, what I know for sure is he sold this Cobra with 8,800 miles on it because he bought back is original Old School Cobra (that seems to be where is true love for the Stang is, "old school").
When you think about what he paid for this Cobra new, plus all the different KB's that were on it, plus the Turbo Kit, new Built Motor, Suspension, Transmission, Electronics, Fuel System, Bar, Interior, Motor Detailing, Gauges, and and and ... I got one HELL OF A DEAL
I just wish Stan (the guy that bought it from Hermann with 8800 miles on it and sold it to me with 9500 miles on it) didnt put these big ass Brakes on it, I WANT THESE RIMS/TIRES BACK
STREET
STRIP
And as far as I can find those two UNCOMPLETED runs were the only two times it was on the 1320
It's easy to see he got out of this one at the 1/8 mile marker...
