Hey guys. I've been a member here at the site for about a year or so, and I believe I have yet to make a post. So here goes...
I had a 2004 Mustang V6 Coupe. Orange, manual, minor visual mods, lowered, 245/295 tires, race trans (noisy as hell), short shifter, 3.73 gears, independent rear suspension from a 1999 Cobra, air intake, h-pipe exhaust, and a computer tune for all that.
I never did get to auto cross it, and I only tracked it once, before most of this was done. Can't complain about a 15 second quarter mile from a well-aged V6.
She looked like this...
Well, that car was fun, went quick, and handled nice, but I decided I wanted to go a different route.
Enter my 2011 V6.
Picked her up on July 31st, 2010. Kona Blue Metallic, 6-speed manual, 305 hp, 31 MPG. The whole shebang that Ford advertised.
This is stock...
Done a few mods now, and I've got other things on the way this winter!
Mods are 35% tint, tinted taillights, Raxiom projector headlights with halos, C&L CAI, Corsa Performance sport exhaust, 2007 Shelby GT500 18" x 9.5" wheels with 255/285 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires and brushed aluminum center caps.
I have a foglight kit in the house, as well as a GT500 spoiler and painted mirror covers on the way.
I also have a box downstairs with 3.73 rear end gears in it, along with a fresh rebuild kit for the 8.8" diff. Not that it needs it. The car has 6500 miles.
I need to make a decision on suspension and sticky tires for the stock 17" wheels you see above. Any suggestions?!?
The good pics I have of said mods have the stock wheels on still. I took a few phone pics with the new wheels on. You can easily tell those by the quality.
I'd love to do Gingerman and Grattan track days this year. Both are in Michigan and are great tracks. I ran at Gingerman once before with NASA, with my old car, 2 years ago.
I, being from Western NY, have a long drive to either of these tracks, but I would make the trip for sure!
