Hello fellow Mustang owners
I have just joined the Western New York Mustang club but I have to tell you before I go any further I live in England about an hour and half west of London. Yes this is a long way away and yes it will make it difficult to get to any of the local events.
My reason for joining though is not totally mad though. Firstly I was borne in Buffalo and the rest of my family are still in the area there so that helps. And 2nd-ly I have recently purchased a 1964 Mustang which is now sitting at my father’s house.
I purchased the car in Nebraska and had it shipped to New York last month. It is however a bit of a fixer-upper and will take me some time to do. But I have had 8 Mustangs so know what I am getting into.
The reason I went for this basket-case is a bit of a story but in short, though I have had 8 Mustangs I have never really had the one I wanted so decided to just build the car I always wanted. So this will be a total strip down and rebuild job.
The plan is to access what the car is going to need, purchase all the bits, ship it to my place in England where I have a mechanic and body shop ready and waiting to go.
The accessing what the car needs and locating all the parts is in fact my main reason for joining this club and I really would value any help from you guys in the area. The car is currently 25 miles East of Buffalo, not far from Batavia. So here's an offer, if there is anyone in that area feel free to contact me direct.
And now for the reason I have this funny looking car posted as my picture. 2 years ago I stumbled across this car in an old barn. I again joined a car club and got great advice and help to restore it to its present condition. I won’t tell you what it is yet though…So 10 Points to the first one that can identify what kind of car it is.
Regards
