Bought a 2005 v6 5 speed earlier in the week. Has pretty high miles but has drove great until this morning i started it up and it was pretty cold out and all i could here was this high pitch squealing coming from the pullys/belt area. So after worrying all day about what to do i did some more research and have read it could be anything from a pulley to a belt to a alternator/water pump. But further more i read online to poor some water onto the belt and see what happened well much to my surprise the belt/pulleys stopped squealing for a little while. I also then tried to wipe down all of the pulleys and belt because when i got the car it was all armoraled and what not but still nothing so where i am at right now is it is quiet due to putting water on the belt .... need help for my next step how to fix this problem for good.
Any help would be much appreciated thanks
