Hello Folks,
Larry here from just north of Buffalo. Looking for things to do as well as to learn a bit about my new 86. I'm had a 93 and an 01, but nothing of this particular generation. For example, are there only a couple of wheels that will fit this car? :)

Anyway, looking for shows or just a reason to drop the top and go!

Any 4 lug 4X4.25 wheel will fit. So anything you could put on a 4-lug 87-93 Fox will look fine on your '86. Theres a lot out there in the aftermarket. Cobra R's, 00 Cobra, 93 Cobra, 4 lug 03 Cobra, Pony R's, ROH, Draglites, way too much to list. Easy to swap to 5 lug also though.

'86's were the stronger block with roller cam, but it has the flat top pistons and E6 heads, which arent really the best combo for upgrading. But '86's were unique because theyre basically a one year only car, first year of multi port electronic fuel injection, the induction system almost identical to the 87-88 speed density except the upper intake has slightly smaller ports and the throttle body is 55MM instead of the 60 that came the year after. Other good things about the '86- true dual exhaust, first year for the 8.8 rearend.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the info! The 86 is pretty much bone stock, only has 80K on it so I'm not going to mess with it too much :)

wow bro that was some good information. I knew some of it, but i didnt know 86s didnt have the same heads......

on another note.. lol new guy nice 4 eye I had an 86 too 86GT AOD

ya those e6's are truck heads. I used to have a 86 befor i got my 04.

The great thing about those 86's and fox bodies in general is that most of the parts are interchangable even with the sn-95.

my 86 we called frankenstien since it has about 9 different years worth of parts in it.

I will always have a fondness for those 4 eyed cars.
