Its been 6 weeks since the car was on all 4s, It will be tonight as I and going to through the rear tires back on it.
I plan on moving to the front now, seeing if the new front brake lines fit or not, and I also am going to take apart the front wheel bearings and give them new grease, maybe replace them if they are worn.
With the warm weather they are calling for this weekend, I plan on rolling the car out of the garage, de-greaseing/powerwashing the engine bay, and giving it a quick coat of semi-gloss.
Some things left to do before I get the motor from Jay with the chassis....
`I need to clearance my factory gauge cluster so my new ones do not hit it. Right now they hit my cluster when installed and they get pushed out about 1/2 inch.
`Need to tuck away the battery cable in the interior and put some of the trim panels back on that I took off to run it
`Install the bracket for the battery shutoff switch and out the switch on it, and drill the hole for the rod to come out of the rear of the car.
`Finish extending part of the wiring harness in the engine bay to go around the new larger radiator to hook into the ABS.
`Bleed the brakes
`Reinstall Gas tank
`Enlarge the hole in the inner fender for the new Cold Air Intake pipe (4"), currently is 2.5"-3"
Sunday I dropped the front bumper off with Matt to get it re-painted. 15 years and 124,xxx miles have taken their toll.
I have quite a few things to do once I get the motor.
`Clearance the alt. for the new valve covers
`Check the clearance between the Harmonic Balancer and the bottom of the water pump housing
`Install the MSD Digital 6 in the car (under the passenger seat) and run all the wires into the engine bay to the correct length they need to be.
`Install the new CAI in the fender and get a Filter to fit it.
`I will need to take some measurements of the block + Intake. I am talking to some people over on Corral.net right now(LS1tech for mustangs, been around for 15 years) and I might need to go with a taller hood than the 3" cowl design that I wanted. That worries me for 2 reasons:
1) I don't want taller than a 3" cown on the car,
2) the hood design I want they only make in a 3" cowl.
I'm sure I'm forgetting an item or two, I need to get a timing pointer for the car....just remembered that, but there are things to do. New motor and clutch will have to be broken in too. Then the car will get tuned.
