2500 gives you a good range of cars you could get- it would get you a decent foxbody(perhaps even an SVO if you are lucky), a real nice 94-98 sixxer/higher mile 99-04 3.8, or a high mile 94+ GT. You really have to look at what you like, and the work you want put into it. a fox or 94-98 V6 will give you a solid base, and both have a great aftermarket.
