So I put in 80 CITY miles already, still a long way to go :smash:

I did notice the chatter fading VERY slowly, its now mostly violent in first gear the most. Been diving head first into traffic wherever I see it, never been so excited about being stuck in traffic in my life :p

Been down shifting a lot, especially when road starts to clears a bit

u want traffic? take junction blv all the way to queens mall and drive around there tomorrow. with the addition of that new mall and the rain, its gonna be backed the fuck up :D

mine goes in april 9th...ill be driving that bitch everyday til the rental to break it in properly...i can log 250 miles a week if i need too, lol

I gotta be honest, I'm disappointed with its stiffness, maybe I bought the wrong clutch, but I wanted something for the street and an occasional track use... not fun driving this in the street anymore, everytime I'm gettin my home my leg is killin me :mad: I'm trying to have fun not suffer

Wow! The clutch pedal really got that much stiffer going with a SPEC 3+?? How does the clutch engage...like and on/off switch or can you still slip it some? I have a SPEC stage 2 now and was considering going to a SPEC 3+ next time because I thought the SPEC 2 was a little soft for 400 rwhp....hmmm might consider a SPEC 2+ now. Keep updating on how the SPEC 3+ breaks in. *The SPEC 2 didn't really increase clutch pedal effort too much over stock btw. Good luck with it!

I had a stock clutch and a crappy cable that was binding. The Spec 2+ clutch that I just had installed is so much softer than what I had in there. I was shown the cable that was taken out of my car and it was completely done and frayed.

Did you have them replace the cable when they were in there?

I had the stock clutch right before this, and with this is a difference of day and night, stock pedal was really nice n smooth and light and it was holding on pretty good.... this feels like a drag race clutch not street...

slipping it causes more chatter than it already does

I'll keep updating on the break-in process, 130miles so far

The cable was the only part that was left alone, I heard the stock cable is better than aftermarket... :idk:

I mean. my friend felt the clutch, he liked it n said its stiff but it grabs pretty good.. But driving this thing for a while and being stuck in traffic with a harsh pedal is really not a pleasant experience and traffic gets worse n worse... will i get used to it? maybe, but I'm not liking this, wish I can only go back in time and not have done this :mad:

The stock clutch cable is better than any aftermarket...so stick with an OEM clutch cable. However, it can add to increased pedal effort because through time it can start binding up (corrosion, heat). My stock clutch cable had broke in the past and when I installed a new OEM cable, the clutch pedal effort felt like butter again with the same clutch and quadrant. Not saying this is definitely the case...but depending on how old or worn out your OEM cable is, you can try swapping in a new OEM cable to give it a shot if the pedal is still very stiff after break-in. Could still be that the SPEC 3+ pressure plate is that much stiffer, the clutch pedal effort is increased too.

Thanks for the details! :awesomework:. I will keep a new OEM cable in mind. I noticed a lot of parts are better off kept OEM unless you're building a race car. too much aftermarket starts to lose drivability

Ok after reading this crap i think im going mcleod twin disk...my boy Rob swears by that clutch and says it feels just like stock but holds 800+hp...looks like i may go that route instead

I just bought the 3+ with spec alum flywheel 26 spline blah blah blah. Will be installing here shortly as soon as I get caught up. I will post results about chatter etc.

I take it I'm the only one that opted for the lightweight pedal option? :D

You know, I'm at 520 miles so far, chatter is still there but only at take off, especially if you don't give it enough gas, chatter gets violent.

As for the pedal, I think I've gotten used to it now, after a lot of adjustments, test n tune, pedal is slightly better. but no match to the previous clutch, that thing was butter. This clutch is much heavier and grabs hard. One thing for sure, I won't have to worry about clutch getting fried...

Good luck with your install, some people have slight or no chatter at all even within the first 100 miles, some have said it doesn't chatter if it was torqued properly. but it's a hit or miss, some have massive chatter for the first 1000 miles, some don't. Let's see what happenes to yours, best of luck!

i have the spec 3+ clutch and bullit steel flywheel in my car for 10k miles. Still chatters a little when I am creeping in traffic. took me a while to get used to the way it grabs. 573rwhp/585 rwtq and no slip at all.

I def got lucky, Mine is really great i have 100 miles so far and its lighter than stock feeling and has very little if any chatter at all. I got lucky or Steve @ Mustang Magic is just that good!!
