Hey guys, so I brought my car to my mechanic and explained to him that the belt tensioner and the uppermost idler pulley (the on right under the alternator pulley) needed to be changed and I gave him both parts. I pick the car up later that day and drive the car home assuming it's done right since I have known him for years and the non stop chirpy sound had ceased somewhat. I start the car the next day and I hear it again non-stop so I wait a couple minutes and the sound persists. I turn the car off and pop the hood take a look and I see that the belt tensioner is new and looks good, but he swapped the new idler pulley with the one that didn't need to be changed! smh. So I bought a new idler pulley so I can change the one that actually is bad on my car, I'm just not sure exactly how to do it myself. From what I know ..
1. Push down on the belt tensioner to loosen up the belt and take it off that pulley
2. Remove the bad idler pulley
3. Put the new pulley on
4. Put the belt back on all the pulleys and let off on the belt tensioner
5. Make sure belt is on correctly
6. Start the car.
Is this right? Thanks in advance to everyone
