gotta pull my rear axle

Today was such a nice day I decided to pull my wheels off and give them a good cleaning.

Well, I broke two of the lock lugs on the rear wheels. I was able to get one off, but the other one just left the cone that sits in the recess of the wheel.

No way to get a socket or anything on it, so I am going to have to pull out the axle and cut the back of the stud to get this damn thing out!!!!


I am not very happy.

Any ideas other than what I most likely will have to do??

DUDE, there is nothing there but the little mushroom on the end. I was thinking of just trying to break off the stud, then at least I wouldn't have to pull the axle out.

I will look at it again tomorrow afternoon. But man does this suck ass!!!!

I tried a chisel (put nicks in my wheel)

Tried heat, tried cursing, kicking, even tried to blast the stud out from the outside in, this way all I had to do was pull the rotor to replace the stud.

I was going to try and weld on a nut, but I can't get the tip in to weld it.

This is going to be fun, wanna help

No way is a torch or plasma cutter going near my 20's.

The only way I can see getting the axle out with all the brake shit on, is to try and remove it very carefully.

I have room to get the caliper off, I have space to get my hands through the wheel. We will see tomorrow, errr later today.

deep well socket? Hammer it on, wont be useable but itll get it off. ive seen it work, but not sure if you have the

No use. Nothing to put the socket on. I only have the little cone from the lug left on the wheel.

I got the other one off by using the socket method.

oh oh oh oh..... I was not thinking straight... I pictured a lug stuck on the stud with no rim there... WOW... I gots my own problems right now...

Simple is not an option here. I have removed broken lugs before, but this one is really making me rack the noodle for an answer. I can drive it over to you if you want to laugh at it also later on today.
