funny smell

pulling into my driveway i was smelling something funny coming from underneath my car...and i get out to smell where its coming from and its coming from the rear left tire/wheel well...it smells like rubber burning and rlly bad...i dont think my tire is rubbing...i got 245/45/17 with 1/4 inch spacers....what could be the problem?

not at all man...after driving 5-10 mins...and i get out the car...the smell of rubber is soo bad....do you think its from my mufflers i had welded in recently? they did not have a heat shield like the factory ones

Rubber or brake smell? Rubber could be build up (long shot).

I would pull the tire and check for any rubbing or chunks missing.
If not make sure that your e-brake is all the way down, pull up slightly to make sure there is little slack in the stick.

That's all I can think of now, I doubt it is the exhaust.

im not rlly sure if its rubber or brake smell....i have new pads all the way around

Just a long shot, but maybe when the exhaust was being removed PB Blaster got sprayed to loosen the bolts and it's just burning off. I over sprayed a bit removing my stock h pipe to bolt on the x pipe and it smelt like burnt rubber for a while till it all burned off.

i had my mufflers welded in...so maybe they did spray something idr

the smell is gone now i believe...will keep a nostril out tho

Could have been a scented booger. I have had them that makes everything smell like penetrating oil after working on the car.

I remember when I first got my mufflers welded in they smelt for a little bit, I'm sure it's nothing. Anytime I drive my Mustang I smell like it for the rest of the day. These are noisy and smelly cars!
