Engine Bay

So I have not ever sense Iv had my car cleaned under my hood:nono:
Iv never really done it in any car considering this is my first stang.....I really could use some pointers on the subject....What to use....I just cant imagin sparing down the hole engine bay can be right????
Could really use some help guys!

This is what I do.

Run car till warm

then I cover the alternator and CAI with foil.

Then I slightly mist the engine with water.

Then I go at it with simple green (diluted 50:1) with water.

close hood (it will cause it's own steam bath)

Wait 20 minutes.

Go rinse off with a mist and some pressure.

Wipe ant heavy soiled areas.

After that I hit the engine with the leaf blower (yes it works great for getting the water out)

Once all done with that, I spray on turtle wax F20 on the entire engine.

Remove foil and let air dry for 20 minutes.



Enjoy shiny engine

I am sure there are 100 ways, but this works for me. have fun and do not rush.

After that I hit the engine with the leaf blower (yes it works great for getting the water out)

+1000 On the leaf blower, great for drying the car off after washing too.

So when you say a mist or some pressure are you using a house or pressure washer or??? and about the "going at it with simple green" do you mean just spraying every where or actually getting in there and scrubbing .... Love the leaf blower drying method lol but Im sure it does its job Thanks!

Hell yeah!! I bought a rechargeable one just for that reason.

Gets all the water out from the mirrors and all the nooks and crannies.

I would pm Big A and see what they recommend.

NO PRESSURE WASHER!!!!!!!!

Garden hose. And simple green diluted with water, 50/50 will work, Hit everything with it, only scrub the heavy soiled areas.

But make sure the car is warm, the heat will cause steam and help the cleaning. DO NOT BREATH IT IN.

I have to find before/after pics, works awesome.

Make sure you use the F20. Armor all is to greasy and makes the plastic slippery.

before each wash on the 95, I hit the whole bay(obviously avoiding the alternator, and such) with Armor all Tire foam, wash the car, then when I'm done with the car, I buff all of the plastics with a clean dry towel. Works great.
