did you check all the valve springs? broken valve springs will cause a wicked tick and run rough. couldve been a bad lifter, ive even seen followers lock up and grind the cam lobe down. ive done alot of research on cams though and every company i talked to said that their stage 3 cams would cause the pistons to wipe out the valves. good luck

Well there was no PTV contact, apparently it was a bent exhaust valve stem up top causing the rocker or lifter to pop up which is what that sound was. They sent out the heads to get looked at to see why exactly it did that because as far as they could tell everything was installed correctly. They said maybe a worn out valve guide causing a little play and it wasn't seated exactly straight so maybe that bent it. They said it was wearing a little bit on the cam lobe but they said it wasn't bad and they said just a little polishing up and its fine, nothing serious.

While the heads are out, I figure why not do a little porting too ;-) lol .... I hope I have her back by next week but if not I guess it won't be until I get back from coming back to NY for 10 days! woohoo.

Cushman Motorsports has said several times that their stage 3 blower cams work fine with stock heads, blower cams are different that N/A cams. They said their stage 2 N/A cams would probably cause PTV issue.

well i was looking at blower cams and all the companies i talked to said either their stage 3 cams would hit or a few said they werent sure if thered be a interference problem. i guess i must not of talked to cushman. well good luck hopefully the new cam will be ok.

Well its certainly been awhile, my car will FINALLY be done on Wednesday but that's a day late because I leave at 1700 on Wednesday for a month of training in the field and won't be back until Sept 6th!

It will be close whether or not I can just pick the car up and get it home or it will be sitting there for an extra month.

Yeah me too, I really hope I will be able to pick her up.... Just sucks that I will be gone for the entire month of August and that's like the best weather month here in Washington. When I get back it will almost be rain season again and then I deploy so I won't have to many chances to drive her.

Finally back from the field. They found a bent rod while I was gone soooo the car is still not finished. It would have been finished if I was able to talk to them while I was gone but I didn't have any service. The car will be done tomorrow though.

She is FINALLY done and driving strong. Sounds good, drives good.... now just have to break her in before I really get on it. Just finished cleaning it. I will take some vids over the weekend and post them up.
