3 out of my 4 metco idler's(came on the car when i bought it) bearings are spinning and rattling away inside the pulleys LOL. Anyone ever had this problem happen before? I know the bearings are supposed to be seated inside the pulleys. I was having acceleration/severe vibration issues under boost conditions ever since I got the car and couldn't figure it out until finally the smaller 90mm idler started makin a really loud knockin noise. At first I thought it was the "drivers side head tick" but this was comin from the front of the motor. I took off the front belt and found that all the idlers had way to much play, better yet the lower 90mm pulley bolt was finger loose lol.
I'm wondering if this was a bad install, or just a bad aftermarket product. I don't know how long these idlers have been on the car for but the car only has 27K. According to http://www.stangshiftergaskets.com/belt_selection_guide.htm I got the rite size belt for my setup. Ordered a new set of billetflow idlers. Heard these are good idlers but i also heard metco's were also so we'll see. I'm praying none of the idler shafts are worn, but i wont be able to tell until i get the new ones on.
