We’ve seen quite a few fully restored Boss 429 Mustangs go up for auction the last few years, but as the saying goes, a car can only be original once. That’s why this 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 that just crossed the block at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction was so intriguing, as it’s a matching numbers original example that’s never undergone any sort of restoration. Adding to the appeal are a Deluxe Marti Report, window sticker, original owner’s manual and warranty book that also come with the car. The price tag for originality? The hammer price and auction fees added up to a total of $176,000. That’s about $100,000 less than the going rate for a mint restored example, so consider it somewhat of a bargain. Let’s hope the new owner keeps it original and actually drives it.
