canned as in you cant modify the tune for the gears? if thats the case you can get a dipswitch unit that slides in under the shifter console on the stick cars, you can splice it into the cigarette lighter wire and somewhere els and it works the same just without any modification of the tune itself. should be able to pick one up either at steeda.com or sacramentomustangs.com

but if you can mod the options just install the 87 fuel tune and mod the gears option.. if you have it.. i got a live wire so i may have more options. but i never had inspection problems other than O2 issues but that was when i first had the xpipe installed.

the speed calibrator is used to correct electronic speedometers in 1994-04 Mustangs due to wheel and tire changes as well as gear ratio swaps. Includes all necessary hardware and installation instructions. 1994-04 5-speed cars only.

I have an sct tune through lasotaracing and I have passed inspection the last 3 years with it. If you are only using your xcal for speedo calibration, the canned tune should not be affecting anything else.
As far as another way to adjust for your gears you can get a speed calibrator from American Muscle.

Dude, you'll be fine. I loaded an SCT tune last year for my gears and minimal bolt ons, had the car inspected months later and had no problems.
