Today I did some more welding to the l/s quarter skin, finished welding in the l/s of the tail light panel, & fitted the new dual exhaust rear valance. It is looking like a Mustang again.
Took the rear valance back off & welded the end mounting studs to the valance so they do not keep falling off & reinstalled it. Still not happy with the fit.:nono:
Today I removed the rear valance since I was not happy with the fit messed with it some more. I ended up welding up the holes in the body & re-drilled new ones a little lower so the valance fits better at the ends. I am happier with the fit now so I installed the quarter panel end caps, gas cap, laid the tail lights in place & took another pic.
Did a little sanding today on the l/s quarter panel seam in between re-arranging the garage & having to run a new 220V line for the air compressor. Nothing picture worthy, just see post #308 it looks about the same.
Yesterday the temp was around the low 50's so I rolled the Mustang out of the garage to get some sun, & visit with my Ranger so I could get at my table saw to finish building a desk for my wife. I will get back to the Mustang soon.
I know it has been a while between getting the new DD Ranger ready for winter & building a desk for my wife the Mustang time has been very limited. Got some time today & removed the r/s front fender & what was left of the battery tray & this was what I found underneath. Good thing I have a new (repo) inner fender panel for it. Time to start drilling spot welds.
The work I get done will be minimal since I have only a 1 car garage & it shares space with my woodworking machines so most of the work needs to be done outside. Is it Spring time yet?.
