I just built a 427 stroker for my 95 GT. I am going to use the T-5 until I can find a reasonable Tremec. The motor is a28 oz. balance. Should I use a 351 flywheel or a 5.0/302 28 oz.?
Find out what your engine was balanced too,is it a internal balanced rotating assy or external?Usually its external but dont guess you will blow that motor to pieces with the wrong weight flywheel.I know this from experience..the good old days.lol
It is external at 28 oz. A 351w 28oz flywheel takes an 11 inch clutch. I have a new steel 28 oz flywheel for the Mustang but it is a 10 1/2 inch clutch. Different tooth count as well. I built the engine and have run it on an engine stand, it runs real well.
It depends on what your bellhousing will accept. Most wont accept the 164 tooth flywheel. The other is a 157 tooth. Once you find out what the bellhousing accepts, use that one!
eh i havent had an trouble with my 3550, and when i let some one drive my car they missed a gear, and it still shifts fine,..... I can definitely say im impressed with the 3550,
