Pretty much said it.. Centrifugal(vortech, procharger, etc.): Linear boost = PSI raises equally with RPM Positive displacement(whipple, kenne bell, magnacharger, etc.) : Instant boost = Nearly instant PSI at throttle Turbo = exponential boost = PSI rises exponentially(duh)

I believe its because most positive displacement have nearly instantaneous low end boost, against say a centrifugal which slowly builds up boost with engine RPM. A centrifugal would probably be better for a daily driver, stay out of high RPM and you will barely notice it, but when you want the...

:awesomework: Yup, remember.. mods are cumulative, not isolated power adders. Long tube may not do much by themselves, but when you're forcing more air into the engine/cams demand more air, you're gonna need an exhaust that can push a lot more air out
