There is not detent cable, its just a TV cable and controls line pressure. You basically accelerate and then leave in D and stomp on it so it stays in drive and does not upshift to OD.

I believe it is for tuning as well since he is running nitrous.

Honestly, a cam is not going to make much of a difference. If you want it to lope just turn the idle down LOL. I know someone that made 260+ rwhp with unported E7 heads that just had GT size valves. They are not the best but will work. The thing is, if you buy pistons, get the machine work...

It should have the same tension from left to right, did you check it before installing? My cousin bought a Mustang with a used B&M and BOTH the tension springs were GONE!!! Shifter was totally shot no idea how the guy drove it like that!!
