Official 1/4 MILE ET Ranking Discussion

This was last year with a N/A 347, 10.8:1 compression, hyd. roller cam and vic. jr heads. C-4 trans and 4.10 gears. It's been 10.65 @ 125 with a 1.45 short time but my brother has that slip.

    Nitrous PRO's & CON's

Yeah I know. I'm a big fan of carbs though. I run a Barry Grant Gold Claw Drag Series carb. It has replacable venturies and it's an 820 that flows 1,000cfm. I'm hoping to sell that soon and get a Pro-Systems custom carb. They are the best IMO. Haggard, do you have your combo listed on here? I'd...

I saw that on NMRA! What a piece of work!! The attention to detail is amazing in everything he does. I think race pages will do an article on it soon.

    Cams!

I would definately run headers. Long tubes will give you the best peformance but short tubes are great too. This month's feature of 5.0 and Superford did a test of 7 different long tube headers. I believe Kooks was the best and MAC wasn't far behind. BBK's are OK too but stay away from JBA...

We run a NOS Big Shot plate right now. it has 68 micro holes in the spray bars. It almost acts like a fogger. If I ever get the cash though I would like Steve Johnson @ Induction Solutions to do a nice fogger system for me. They are by far the most innovative in N2O systems.

    Cams!

X-pipe definately. At higher RPM's the exhaust gasses will blow by the bypass tube in a H-pipe. In an X pattern the gasses have no where to go but by each other. This balances out pressures on both sides of the engine and helps create a scavenging effect resulting in higher HP #'s. The sound of...

    Nitrous PRO's & CON's

These guys don't understand that Nitrous itself does nothing but enrich the oxygen in fuel. It's not flammable by itself that is why you have to add extra fuel to the mixture. The other common misconception is that N2O is the "cheap horsepower". Well, if your running a 75 shot in a dry kit you...

Good call Haggard! Pulling the plugs is a very good way to read your A/F. Race fuel can make it hard to read sometimes but it will keep you safe anyways. We use an Innovate LM-2 Dual Channel A/F Ratio meter. I can keep an eye on the a/f mixture all the way down the track as well as reading the...
