better for acceleration. the diameter is closer to the stock 16's. also better size to fit that rim, better handling and better looking. those are nice rims, they were only on the '08-09, the 07's were silver. had a set of bullet wheels on one of mine, same size rim w/ the pzero 245/45-18's

Rims will fit fine. They are 8.5" wide so shouldn't put 225's on them. leave the 235/50.. Actually 245/45's would reduce the diameter very slightly and be better for the v6, they also fit the wheels much nicer. '05-06 don't have TPMS

yeah but they're right, i would trade it for the hydraulic steering from my '10 any day, it doesn't feel the same no matter what setting it's on

you got the right car, it has an Explorer engine. just make sure the stock muffler is gone and you're good, it has a 1 3/4" int dia that chokes the hell out of the motor over 3k rpm's
