Possible Pulley Problem

I've never seen one break like that, usually the bearings go in them and you will get some noise. The tensioner pulley on my F150 crapped out and that only has 46k miles on it. SUPER wobbly, bearing was shot and making noise. Had a whine that sounded like I was SC'ed lol.

Might of had something to do with this..

Okay so a family of crickets jumped into my motor. There silent when my cars not running but as soon as i start my motor they start screaming.. Only at idle or when the rpms are between 1000-2000.. When ever i accelerate they are silent. They must like the sound of the motor because when ever i accelerate even the slightest bit they stop chatting. But if i down shift to slow down they start screaming for more..

At first i thought it was because the belt was wet but it's dry now and there still chatting.. Any ideas? It's definitely coming from the belt.

Definitely. I'd take the belt off and check all of them asap.

Yeah i had her towed home yesterday.. Going out there today to replace the pulley and belt

Fixed and Fixed...

The guys at napa i think would be better selling dresses.. It took three guys to figure out what size belt i had. Finally they figured it out.. I have a 73.5" belt on there and i bought a 73.25" because i'm going down to a 2.8" pulley. With the 3.1" on there it's very snug so i'll have room to lose a little when i go to the 2.8"

Good that the "crickets" gone...bearing prob went bad on the idler, shaking the idler bad & causing the break!

Did you ever replace the plugs? ...if so, have you pulled a few since to inspect?!

Yeah i swapped out the plugs in the beginning of this ordeal. Haven't checked them yet.. I miss getting on it.. On a positive note i got 275 miles on a full tank

Well here's the catch.. I'm suppose to have jury duty tomorrow friday, mon, tues, and wed but i called today and i don't have to report tomorrow so i'm hoping i get skipped over or else i'll have to cancel my appointment.

Well my 2.8" should be here tomorrow. I think autozone has the pulley puller i need. I stopped there yesterday and i thought i saw it on their tool rental sheet..

You do!!?? That would make things so much simpler.. Thing is i have my appointment at 2:00pm Wednesday so i have to leave my house by 6 am which would put me at yours around 9:30 and If it takes a half hour i'd leave by 10:00 and be there at 1:30.

...Remember the way?? ....About 3 hours to MM from my house! ...I'll get you down there a little faster from my house to Albany...it'll save you 10+ minutes
