yeah the t5's can last. I broke mine running et streets when the car was only making mid 400's. If I were to redo, I would go with a gforce t5. Much lighter and the gear ratios were much more appropriate for the motor I was running. But the viper spec is ohh soo smooth and I don't run a aftermarket shifter. So I did it backassward and designed the motor around the tranny. Lol

Yea they are hit/miss, your car had the better one at least. I would like a T-56 I have driven a lot of them in the 03/04 Cobras, F-bodys, etc. I just think the taller 1st might hurt me off the line.

The viper spec is quite a different t56 then the 03/04 cobras and camaros. And yes the 2.66 1st gear does hurt on a centri charged 302. Need a lot of low end torque but the close ratio is nice.
