Steve Saleen came out to Westbury to show off his new SMS S302 and sign some cars, DiBlassi Ford just got one in Black and drove it out there. Its was an N/A SMS tuned Coyotte engine and it sounded good, Supercharged models will be out in the fall. They did a nice job with the rear, very F1 inspired, seats had Suede inserts and the brakes were gorgeous.
So i got to meet Steve and talk about the car for a few mins while he signed it, i asked him how many Screaming Yellow / Glass Top cars were made and he said "Less than 10", Fred Blum also told me MY car was one of the last cars built in California before they moved out to Michigan. Steve signed the Dash and the Radiator cover and even snapped a photo with me.
A Shelby GT500 owner got Steve to sign his dash and it said " My car is Faster" over his signature...
On all the Fox body cars he wrote "power in the hands of the few".
Tons of great Mustangs showed up for this event, even a few boy tie boys came around. There was a good 25 + Saleen's of all generations, a couple extremes and a couple Parnelli's, great turnout.
