That Cross member is pretty cool looking,I like how the lower control arm ties into it as well. I recognize the name ZRAY from the VMF. Is that something that he had and sold to you or does he make them? If I ever decide to work on my Race car that would be A cool piece for it. I'm also a firm believer in Clutch Fans. It may not seem like much to you,but every little thing you do on the car to improve it,Adds up.Looking good.
Yes, I bought it from Z directly. Considering it's a 52 year old mass produced vehicle with dubious build quality, road abuse and a camber kit on the lower arms this think fit like a glove. I had to very slightly elongate for the two frame bolts which Z said in his instructions might very well happen.
I couldn't stand how loud the stock 4 blade fan was. I took it off completely. I was going to run a electric fan but I'm still a fan of the clutch fan. There's a guy where I stay in NJ during the week who has a ton of 67 & 68 Mustang parts on CL. He had the fan, it was off his brother's Mustang that was taken off in the early 80's. After I bought it I saw a GM part number and found out it was from the 70's. The guy was really cool about it, he said bring it back but the snow kind of killed a lot of time. Doing a little search on Autozone's web site I noticed a lot of clutches fit both GM and Ford. With the 1" spacer the clutch is about 3/4" from the core and the blades are about 1.5" away. Not ideal but I think it'll be fine. If not I'll get a shroud.
I was driving the car this weekend to gt some miles on it before going to Watkins. The fan is dead quiet
Let me start off by saying that Mike, you have a really nice looking rear end ........Ooops I mean your cars rear end looks very nice.....Lol ....Good job,The project is progressing nicely.
Huskinhano I love the stance on your car, Silver frost is a great color. I can see that you have done a ton of mods to the car.I would love to hear more on the backstory of your car and especially a bunch of the details on the build. If you have some time maybe start a new thread or add to this one.I'd love to hear details on the eng, trans, suspension, etc. of your build......
As far as myself winter project wise I've been keeping busy with house stuff A Kitchen remodel. So Mustang stuff hasn't been in the fore front although I did manage to do some things on my long term 66 coupe "Marilyn " project as well as my Hurricane Sandy 66 convertible redo..... I managed to break my wife's 65 red convertible ( The one in my sig) so that will lead to some future project stuff.Lol. I also had a 66 convertible show up over here at Christmas Time .This car was off the road for 15 years, so I've been working on getting that roadworthy again......I can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit.......
