A short film has surfaced with some rare behind the scenes footage of the making of the movie 'Bullitt'. A movie most remembered for one of the earliest and most influential car chase scenes through the streets of San Francisco. The 11-minute chase scene between Lt. Frank Bullitts (Steve McQueen) 1968 Ford Mustang GT390 and a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum was shot with no movie special effects. The video shows alot of what went into making the movie work from practicing the chase scenes to the great camera work. Check out the video above.

Ive seen this, its included with the Bullitt DVD as an extra, its actually better than the movie. It really gives you an idea of what it took to make the chase scene seem so real, it actually WAS REAL, they closed the street but they had traffic and the drivers actually did all the stunts, NO CG, NO BS, its no wonder that its still regarded aas the best chase scene EVER 40 years later. THe only chase scenes that has come close are in RONIN.
