We’ve already shown you plenty of photos and videos of the 2012 Shelby 1000, which made its debut at the New York Auto Show earlier this year, but with the supercharged V8 producing up to 1,100 horsepower it’s definitely a car that deserves a second look. Or third. Or fourth.
The car pictured here, sporting Kona Blue paint and bare aluminum wheels, is the same exact one that debuted in New York and was on display in the Wilwood booth at SEMA. Under the hood is the aforementioned supercharged 5.4-liter V8 producing 1,100 horsepower in off-road “S/C” trim, and a 9-inch rear end, carbon fiber one-piece driveshaft and a beefier suspension system help put it all to the ground.
While perhaps not the most aggressive looking Shelby Mustang ever built, the 1000 will likely be the most powerful one for quite some time. It will also go down in history as the last Mustang to be introduced while Carroll was still alive.
