Hey all, I found a 01 GT with about 80k on the dash, downside is the car will need a new drivers door and drivers side quarter panel. Its all comestic and everything else on the car works perfect. Hes asking $3800 which hopefully i can neg on it a little more, just curious if its something worth trying for. Most of the work i can do myself except for the painting. Anything else i should look for when i see the car?
There may be more damage then cosmetics to it. The hit might have bent the rear axle and crunched the floor pan a little bit but there is no telling unless you thoroughly examine everything on that car. Why not just get one that wasn't involved in an accident? A couple months of saving and you could buy a GT that isn't all beat up with similar miles.
Seems like a lot of money for what it is. You could probably get a GT without that damage for not much more. I see them all the time on CL 1000-2000 more. That is definatly more than $2000 worth of damage including paint. The quarter panel damage is in a tough spot being so close the glass not to mention the door jam. Definatly looks like the door jam/frame area will need work too, doesn't look like it would be as simple as welding in a new quarter and replacing the door.
