How much pressure should it make though...i started it up and right when oil got the gauge it whent up to 7opsi
Is that 70 psi? You wrote "7 opsi"
70 is good. Once the engine oil warms up (it takes longer to warm the oil than the coolant) the pressure will drop down, probably to somewhere between 20 and 35 at idle with hot oil. The pressure will rise rapidly with engine rpm and settle down again when the rpm drops. When the oil is cold it is thicker, so the pressure will be much higher. There is a pressure relief spring in the oil pump that wont let the pressure go higher than 70-80 psi, so whe the engine is cold that is what you will see.
You probably never saw any of this pressure variation with the factory gauge, because the factory gauge IS NOT REALLY A GAUGE. It is more like a warning light. As long as you have more than 10 psi the factory gauge just points to the middle.
