Need Help With How to replace ignition pickup

I have a 87 mustang gt HO its been dying out on occasion and won't start til it's cool..then will do the same thing again...Did some research and I think its the PIP..............DO YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE DISTRIBUTOR TO REPLACE THE PIP??????? ###PLEASE HELP###

you will have to remove the distributor and the gear. The gear is hard to get off and you will need a puller. It also has a roll pin in it.

Thanks alot!! I'll give it a shot...I'm also hearing my problem could be a bad 02 sensor...The car just dies out off and on when i'm driving, then wont start back up til it's cool...any advice?
