Hey All,
So I have a 1988 original Saleen vert and I was going to beef it up a bit. It currently has a Paxton supercharger 5lbs which was installed in 89, some 40 series and H pipe, stock 3.55 rear (I am not original owner - car had 4 pervious) 68k on her, some front end paint work but all the rest of her is mint... My intentions (ready to pull trigger) is to add a complete upper = afr165 renegades - custom cam - systemax 11 intake and other components to match set up by Flowtech and of course a final tune. Also having some custom subframe connectors installed. My question to you all is - do any of you think that I will take the value out of the cars worth. Some folks say never touch a all original unmolested car. I totally get at the end of the day it becomes preference - but just curious if it really impacts value? My thoughts are if I beef it up, it wouldn't really make that much of a difference simply because if I was to sell her modded, or not and move to a newer stang, at the end of the day - what will it be honestly worth - (AT MOST) 12000 - 14000 dollar mint Saleen. So in my mind I'm thinking a respectful but yet nasty additional power beef up is a smart move? who knows in the future it could possibly sell for more if the right person wanted that bad. At least I will get full potential out of a stock block.. I know I'll get some good feedback from NYM!!
