Most highly collectable Mustangs usually have “Shelby” or “Boss” in the name, but this beautiful 1968 Fastback fitted with an R Code 428 Cobra Jet engine is right up there with the best of them. Just 1,044 examples were produced in 1968, making it more rare than its Shelby counterparts. Adding to the car’s value is a meticulous nut and bolt restoration and a plethora of awards that certify its authenticity.
So how much is it worth? The Wimbledon White ’68 Fastback crossed the block at Barrett-Jackson this weekend, and the final selling price of $165,000 made it one of the most expensive Mustangs at the auction.
