I'm just a 70's motorhead getting back into cars now that time & $ allows.. I'm LOST by all this electronic stuff controlling engines...I have this 94 Mustang 5.0 tweaked up to 400+ HP. It appears to have the factory engine control computer. My concern is I believe 200 degrees F is too high an engine temperature for cooling fan start on this engine. Talked to American Muscle about getting a chip to start the fan around 180.. They thought that a good idea but suggested I go about it another way than chip control. They suggested www.dccontrol.com . I went to their website & they have 2 options- :nono: a sensor that inserts into the radiator fins & turns the cooling fan on & off at a given set temperature through it's own relay system ( $125 ) or easier a Temperature Module that you put in line with the stock temperature relay that will lower fan start speed by 15 degrees engine temp/185? engine temp and lower the fuel enrichment temperature by 10 degrees...($35) Any one have any input on which way I should go & is my thinking about the temperatures valid?:smash: I'm leaning to the Temperature control module NOT DO TO COST but ease of install & I'd rather have the fan controlled by ENGINE temperature rather than radiator temperature...
