88 mustang gas tank question

hi i have a mustang thats a project. its a 88 body that was orignally was a 4 banger. now i have a 1984 302 motor. and a t5 trans. anyway to my point the car came with now fuel tank. now its carbed. can i use a gas tank from 81-86 mustang since its a carbed gas tank??? alll help will be a aprreciated. thank you

it should mount right up, just make sure it's not off an '86 since they're the same as '87+
also the '84-85 5.0 auto's were FI but not sure if the fuel pump was in the tank on those. :idk:
& the 2.3 turbos... ok don't listen to me.. anyone else?
