Wow, That's about all I can say.I'm glad you were ok.Did it catch fire while you were working on it? I wish you alot of luck bringing that car back,It must be alot of fun working with heat warped metal. Are you planning on rebuilding it as a pro street type car again?
Yeah, I thinking pro street, maybe make her a fast back. I figure that I have a blank slate, so the sky (or budget) is the limit. I was putting a set of rear springs in, and when the rear end was out, a box fan in the window that caught fire.
Well Prochager does not make a big unit for early Mustangs. The unit hangs off to the left and would hit the inner fender. I could have removed a smaller peice but I will more then likely have a cover made when I have the tin work redone in the trunk. The next problem is the shock tower. The inlet for the blower hits the shock tower. In order to fix this I cut a section of it out and added a forward bar to help brace the front of the shock tower. I also have the bar on the back side of the tower going inside to the main cage for support.
I will add pictures later if you are interested in seeing the inlet I made and how the whole thing looks. I molded in a 4 inch inlet in the head lamp door. Basically build a ram air type of set up. Did some thinking and with the help of some Spin Tech tubing came up with a pretty unique set up!
My name is Tim. I live in Amherst NY and I have a 1968 coupe. 6 cylinder-3 speed. I just put the finishing touches on a new fully ported and polished head with an Offenhauser triple carb manifold. I have a new ISKY racing cam and pistons ready to go in the bottom end as soon as my wallet heals. I am still looking for 1 more Holley carb (List 1921-S) to complete the top end. It was originally used on a 60-61 Ford Falcon (the 1st Mustang). I'd be interested in any condition.
No ESTA race track for me, too far up north. Im located on Long Island, that picture was taken right on the side of the Meadowbrook parkway goin out to captree. buddy threw a timing chain outta his 73 camaro, so figured id take a pic while we were pulled over.
